If I loved you once, I’ll love you forever.

It’s weird thinking of that statement right “if I loved you once, I’ll love you forever”. The question worth asking is do you love me or the version of me that you knew & the truth in that is I love you.

As unhealthy as that may sounds, it’s true. If you were still apart of my life the version of you that exists today I would learn to love as I would have any version of you that came while we shared space. Love is the only thing that matters in this cruel yet beautiful world, religion teaches it as it’s end all be all, music teaches it as the great hope & despair, movies taught it as something to aspire toward for young people & old alike.

if I loved you once doesn’t mean I’m in love with you. I’m in love with you is a designation given to the person who’s going to be or is currently in my life today. The person I must learn to love, not the person I would have learned to love.
